Guest Gnome Chomsky Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I usually post in the linguistics forum but I haven't found many people interested in computational linguistics. I've been studying linguistics for 4 years now and I'm in the process of completing a computer science minor in my final year of undergrad. As of now I'm only familiar with C and C++ but I'm catching on fast and I really like it. I'm interested to see how my newly gained computer programming knowledge will work with my existing linguistics knowledge. Anyway, I just thought I'd come to the computer science forum and see if anyone here knows about or works in comp ling. There are an array of functions and subfields such as machine translation, language learning software, text-to-talk, talk-to-text, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, parsers, taggers, computational syntax etc. If anyone can tell me anything about the field from their knowledge or experience I'd greatly appreciate it.
