LM04 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Hello guys, I will be applying to graduate schools next fall and would like to know my chances. I am a psychology major, and my GPA is above 3.0. I want to get into hunter or lehman's social work program. My experience: In HS I volunteered at an elderly home, and tutored first graders. I am currently a dove advocate: DOVE is a program that helps women/men victims domestic violence and sexual assault during their stay in the ER. I am also interning in a social service agency. So far I have a recommendation letter from one of my professors, the DOVE programs social worker, and the social service agency's social worker/coordinator. What are my chances?
Duck! Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Hi, I graduated from Hunter's MSW program in 2000, and I had less experience going in than you, so I say you have a really good shot! Volunteer work + internship + job in social services + good references + decent gpa = competitive application. Good luck, Duck!
