rpavi Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Hi, I have got admits from CMU-INI for ms in Information security and Tech management, and georgia tech for ms in information security. the tuition fees for the entire prog comes to $46K (after a $25k waiver) at CMU while it is $13k per semester in gatech. Is going to CMU worth the money i'll be spending? what should i do?
dino88 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 PM me if you want. I know someone who I can connect you with who went to both schools.
TKassis Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I do not think so. Overall the Georgia Institute of Technology (Gatech) is better ranked than CMU. Paying so much for CMU doesn't make much sense when you have an equally (or even better) admit from another university. There is too much cost difference between the two considering the overall teaching/research quality is probably the same.
iamraymond Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Agree with TKassis, Georgia Tech is a big name in Engineering (I believe GT ranked 4th in US below MIT,Stanford and Berkeley), and CMU maybe better in Computer Science and Business, but definitely not Engineering. BTW, Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech is extremely strong, ranked top 3 in US, many graduates get hired by Lockheed Martin, Boeing, etc.
