Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone is enrolled in or is familiar with Peabody College's Masters Degree + Teacher Licensure programs? I was hoping to get a feel for what people thought about the program in terms of being challenging and stimulating, quality of the teachers, if you get enough mentoring, and so on... Just general things!  :)

Last year I was accepted into Columbia University's Teachers College for the Applied Linguistics masters, and I was super excited...but the experience ended up being really disappointing (and not just for me!). I realized that if I had to do it again, I would definitely try to talk to actual students. I've always been interested in education and really enjoyed my classes in the subject at the Teacher's College, and I liked Peabody's program in that it's really designed for "career changers" like myself.

But I wanted to see if anyone out there really had some unbiased opinions? I'd just like to hear about how people really feel about the culture there. I know it's an amazing school, but my experience with the Teacher's College definitely taught me not to judge a university by its prestige!

I'm not familiar with this program, so unfortunately I can't specifically help you. But have you tried contacting the program and asking to be put in touch with a current student so you can ask them questions from a student's perspective? Most of the programs I'm looking at have automatically done this for me. But usually they have student ambassadors who can answer questions. You might get a slightly more biased perspective, but its worth it to try.
