muffinlit
Hey... So, I got that email about final decisions being made at the very earliest (for lit people) March 20th... but has anyone heard anything? I emailed the assistant to the DGS and she said they would be emailing everyone of their decisions, and then looking on the results page it seems a bunch of people were accepted already a while ago. Does anyone have any news. It's my last school to hear from, and I just want to be done with this round. I'm ready to move on with my life and start planning for next fall. disjecta
I've been wondering about this as well. Haven't seen a thing since that e-mail a few weeks back. I'm sick to my stomach wondering about what the lack of response means -- and since so many people got offers back in February -- I suppose it doesn't look good. Best of luck. muffinlit
I guess I just don't get it. How can some people know already... and yet decisions haven't been made yet. I'm calling Shenanigans... on what I don't know. But I'm calling it dammit.
MadSweeney
I've been wondering the same thing. Seemed like they just sent an email to tell us not to expect to hear from them until the very last minute. I especially like how it ended with the idea that we wouldn't be told if we were waitlisted, "because, frankly that isn't a decision." Agreed with the above poster, Shenanigans. wrappedupinbooks
Ohmygosh. I'm so glad you guys posted this. I'm in agony too!
muffinlit
With the amount of rejections I've received (and having zero acceptances) being weightlisted is like winning the Superbowl to me right now. It's like oh, well it's the economy's fault... not my lack of intellect...
buribunk
fwiw, i think the confusion may be related to the fact that the email sent out a couple of weeks ago by fsu was to lit. phd, ma, and creative writing mfa and phd applicants. speaking as a phd lit applicant, i was notified of my acceptance near the end of february. i got a funding letter emailed to me, but still haven't received anything in the mail. muffinlit
Hmmm... curiouser and curiouser... I'm a lit phd applicant too... ugh there really is no point figuring this stuff out. So, just my own nosiness how was their funding package?
disjecta
Have any of you had a change of status or any notification whatsoever? I think FSU and Purdue are going for a tie on the loooongest waitlist in history
fmm728
i'm in, and my fiance's in. he got called personally by the dgs and found out my status from there. i think they're doing it in waves, but delaying the rejections and keeping the waitlist unofficial. (lsu style?: gigantic waitlist, no one denied until the very end?) anyhow, we both officially accepted the offer. he's modernism/beckett/modern drama. i'm southern lit/genre studies. unrelated info: we're turning down 1 spot at uw-mil, ut-knox, and uic; and 2 spots at gsu and mtsu. if we ever get off the gigantic waitlist at lsu, we'll be turning that down, too.
