jameswooyoung Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Is it wise to only focus on these two sections and not the verbal section? I had originally planned for a 2 month study plan but got caught up working full time for my internship... I also felt like it would be impossible to memorize so many words and maybe it'd be wiser to focus on something that I have a better chance of memorizing and doing. Note, I'm not saying I'm excellent in math or writing, just it seems like those two sections are easier to work on.
powerlifterty16 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 i didnt study much verbal except some vocab words..otherwise you're screwed. I got a way better verbal score percentile wise than quant.
Guest ||| Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 It might be practical if time is an issue, but it is not wise. If I were you, I'd divide my time up and begin by reviewing the entire test, then allocating time to where I think I most need it. At the very least reconsider your argument of not studying the verbal because the memorization of words would be difficult.
jameswooyoung Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Would it be better to study word groups? I think this was mentioned in one of the GRE study books. Or actually memorizing words?
powerlifterty16 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 james, i HIGHLY recomend studying the free flashcards from magoosh. Today12345 and powerlifterty16 2
Guest ||| Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I didn't lump words into groups, but instead used flashcards.
DeleteMePlease Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 FYI: I also used magoosh (flashcards and the tutorials) to study verbal and improved by 5 points.
