inksoul Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 So, I was accepted to Vanderbilt's M.Ed program to start Summer 09. For graduate applications, they use the same process for Fall 09 and Summer 09 admits and I was wondering if it is impossible or a weird request to defer to the Fall. Do you think they would be okay with that? It seems that my summer plans have changed and I think I'd like to travel before I start graduate school and I was just wondering if any of you guys had any insight on this...since it's not really deferring for a year. (The Vanderbilt website says on their FAQ that they don't allow deferrals for a year...and that you have to reapply...but clearly I can't reapply for the Fall if the deadline was the same as the Summer term.) Does anyone have any experience with this?
akiko Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I'm sorry - I haven't heard anything about that. I will pass along anything if I find out about this. I have been accepted to Vanderbilt's M.Ed. program, too. Which program are you entering?
inksoul Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 I was accepted under the Learning & Instruction strand where I want to focus on Curriculum Development. What about you?
tkm256 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Most programs prefer students to start in fall anyway. I don't think they'd have a problem with it; email the secretary of the department and ask.
