That makes a lot of sense. I'm having some trouble with fitting it all into 300 words though since I chose a school on the quarter system, so there are two extra courses I need to talk about. But thanks!

FYI - I just received email notification about my application. They thank me for my interest but ... blah blah ... only a limited number ... blah blah. Ah well. It was worth a shot.

I haven't received any email yet... anyone else in the same boat? Any idea what that might mean in terms of their decision process?

I'm pretty shocked right now, I just got a phone call this morning telling me I got the fellowship! I need to come up with a new program of study actually, because I won't be attending the university that I had originally proposed (I'm starting grad school this fall). It looks like there are a lot of fellows from my new school with this fellowship though, so hopefully that shouldn't be too hard (perhaps I can get an idea of what courses they selected..?)!

I just got the DOE CSGF phone call from Lindsey !!!

 

I am also attending a different school than I proposed, so that changes things too. ak_12, we're going to both have to come up with new plans of studies.

Cool haha. Yea I'm looking up a new program of study because I think I will definitely be attending a different school than the one I proposed. The CS courses are the "hardest" to figure out (I'll be doing research more condensed matter physics/materials science related).
