Does anyone know anything about the reputation of this program? Would it be a worthwhile PhD, or as a springboard (Masters) to a different PhD program?

It's a very new and unknown program. If you're interested in a career in academia, you should probably look elsewhere, but if industry is what you're interested in, then it's probably ok
