veets Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I am going to submit my published honors thesis as part of an additional writing samples section for a fellowship application. My problem is that the limit is 5 pages- and mine is 8 (7 without references) in the published version of the article. The application allows for multiple writing samples though, each of 5 pages in length at max. Should I: 1. Attach the first 5 pages in one section and the last 3 pages in the next section of the application? 2. Only attach the first 5 pages of the published article? 3. Edit the original document (originally about 30 pages) down to 5 pages with excerpts about excluded sections? Thanks!
Loric Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I don't know much, but i do know "did not follow instructions" is a major pet peeve of the folks who read these things. Find something that is 5 pages or less that you wrote.
fuzzylogician Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Contact the program and ask about submitting the 8-page published work before you do anything else.
