nyr Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I feel that there has been a lot of talk on this regarding IR/foreign policy programs. Can anyone rank the MPP programs in terms of domestic social policy? Thank you!
nyr Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Anyone? I can think of a few schools that have a strong focus on social policy, but I'm not sure how they would rank: Ford, GSPP, Harris, and Sanford.
sas Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I'd love to hear thoughts on this as well. I'm currently deciding between Wagner and Harris for education policy, but not sure how they stack up. Thanks!
policy_applicant Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 FWIW, U.S. News Social Policy rankings. All the typical qualifications apply.
sas Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Thanks for posting that link, but I guess I'm wondering if people have opinions on the programs' reputations, selectivity, job placement etc. that might not be captured in those rankings.
chellie99 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I'd say the US News list is a pretty good start - although I wouldn't put Wisconsin so high and Syracuse seems more focused on public management/administration than social policy analysis. I'd put Harvard, Chicago, and Berkeley as the top three in terms of overall domestic social policy, although some of the other programs have specific strengths in particularly social policy areas (urban, health, education, etc).
