ginadeena Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I know that a lot of schools are starting to ask for video essays; it's even becoming more common at the undergraduate level. I'm applying to NYU Wagner and they state: Create a video of no longer than one (1) minute in length that describes a unique perspective, skill set, or life experience you have. Articulate how it might benefit your classmates, enhance discourse in the classroom, and/or contribute to the NYU Wagner community. Does anybody have any tips on how to approach this? Or just any tips for video essays in general? ginadeena 1
Loric Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I think you should do something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkwSqUzgcOQ#t=0 It'll be hilarious and awful.. and hilarious.
ginadeena Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Hahah that video -- thanks for sharing! Only if Wagner was an art school. . .
excusemyfrench Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) If you're good at editing, then I'd say put some effort into that. It may feel cheesy at the time but even some background music, transition effects, etc. can make it more polished - especially if you're just going to stand/sit somewhere and talk for 1 minute. At the same time, don't go overboard. There are actually a good number of Wagner videos on YouTube. Good luck!!! Edited November 15, 2013 by excusemyfrench
