ec86 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Hi all, I'm looking to improve the layout of my CV. I have a few real ones that I had found online that I used to model my current one, but I have since done some more things so I need to expand some categories and cut some things out. Do any of you have a good, real academic CV that is available online? Preferrably in the natural sciences/life & medical sciences/public health areas? Specific things I'm looking to add and unsure of which categories they fall under are: -workshop participation (e.g. as a contributing stakeholder, not those training ones) -awarded travel grants -published abstracts of conference presentations (these ones are odd... I've seen people list the abstract AND the presentation. Is this normal? I ask because it seems like listing the same item twice) Thanks!
advice Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Google in quotes your field, university, cv and pdf. For example try, "Sociology Department CV pdf".
fuzzylogician Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I've found it useful to look at CVs of grad students at top programs in my field. They usually had the same type/amount of information as I had to give in their CVs, so I could get a good idea of how it should look.
