Has anyone gotten into Emory and gotten a decision from them on scholarships? I was told that my application was in the queue for scholarship review in January, but I know that in the past Emory has offered scholarships over the phone along with the admissions decision. Is this no longer how they do things, or should I take this as a sign that I'm not near the top of the applicant pool?

Thanks everyone!

Trains, I applied to the MTS, so it may be a little different, but when they called to let me know I was accepted to the program they told me I would hear about scholarship information in March after they've received all of the applications and had time to evaluate them all for scholarships. I don't know if the process is different for MDiv's, but I'm not expecting to hear anything from them soon. Hope this helps aleviate some of the stress!

*I just looked at my acceptance letter again to confirm, and it says "scholarship review will begin in January and continue until all funds are depleted," so if it truly "begins" in January, you may not hear an offer from them until later, just my guess.

Hey All,

I was accepted a little over a month ago. According to the financial aid office, decisions concerning funding for the MDIV are not made until the spring. Top scholarships are tied into their Leadership Candler (LC) program, which seems to require an in-person interview in the Spring during that particular conference. From what I have been told, if you receive an invitation to visit as a part of the LC (not the regular visit invitation), then you are in the top of the application pool. I hope this helps and congrats on your admittance!

Trains,

I talked to the financial aid office this week since I have a deadline to accept a different offer and am wanting to hear from Candler first before going ahead. Decisions for the Leadership Candler are made Feb. 3-5. If you hear back that week, then you are being considered for their top scholarships. All others begin hearing from financial aid the following week until all decisions are made.
