UVA Batten Fall 2014 - Admitted Thread

I just received notification last week of my admittance to Batten for the Fall 2014 MPP cohort. Anyone else? What are your thoughts? Did you receive any indication of financial aid in your acceptance letter? Where else did you guys apply?

I just received a notice that I was waitlisted. I'm happy, considering that it's a great school and probably my first choice! Does anyone know what the likelihood of getting off the waitlist is?

I was also waitlisted yesterday. I'm not sure how many of us they waitlisted, but with a smaller program i'm guessing the odds of us coming off aren't good.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic. It's a newer program, so it's quite possible they expanded seats this year (and we have no accurate way to determine the number of individuals placed on the wait list).

 

For now, I would like to encourage those who were accepted into U.Va. to make their decisions as soon as they can. Those of us on the wait list would be very grateful for a quicker final decision!

Hi ! I was admitted to Batten as well, and I am seriously considering it. I only applied to a total of 3 schools (UVA< CMU Heinz and GWU for MPH), and UVA is so far the only one that I have heard back from. My admitted email contained scholarship info, but no info on financial aid.

I just got an email saying that I was top of the wait list. It looked really promising. Now I'm just worried about tuition and fees, since it's around $62k for the whole degree without aid (according to this: https://sfs.virginia.edu/tuition/2013-2014#GCHN).

I thought it looked promising. They made it a point to emphasize that we were at the top of the list and it sounded like they will have a few spots to fill. I'll have my fingers crossed until tomorrow.

Officially accepted! I'm so excited to be "in" at a prestigious university like UVa! Ahhh!
