Does having an internship in a US univ increase chances for admission?

Hi, I am applying to the MS in CS Fall 2014 program. 

 

Do you think it will strengthen my application if i have an internship at Purdue univ and also a recommendation  letter from the prof i worked under ?

 

GRE - 167 Quant 150 Verbal 3.5 AW  

TOEFL - 110

GPA - 3.3

Any research experience will help, and a strong letter from a professor who you did research with is also a plus. Bonus points if the letter is from a well-known professor, though that's not necessary.
