luminous135 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) Hello,I am a senior at Columbia University majoring in Econ with Stat minor.I have been on the career path for wall street jobs til my third year and have changed my mind and decided to pursue grad school in Econ.As I know that I have not prepared well for grad school at this point, I wanted to ask for your evaluation and guidance for future.I am at this point not decided between applying for masters (in Econ/Stat/Applied Masters) and getting some kind of research job.When I talked with my professor, he said I would have a chance of getting in LSE or Barcelona GSE.Any advice would be very helpful.PROFILE: Type of Undergrad: Private 4 year school with good curriculum Undergrad GPA: 3.37 Type of Grad: Grad GPA: GRE: V 157 Q 167 (I could have done better with my Q score - usually get 180 in practice) Math Courses: Calculus (A-), Linear Algebra(A-), Multivariable calculus (B+), Real Analysis (B ) Econ Courses (grad-level): Price Theory (B ) Econ Courses (undergrad-level): Game Theory (B ), Finance (B+), Static and Dynamic Optimization (B+), Economics Micro/Macro (A-), Econometrics (B ) Other Courses: Letters of Recommendation: Some of courses I took were extremely difficult, and professors seemed willing to write good/mediocre LORs Research Experience: Spent my last summer for Econ research under professor Teaching Experience: Research Interests: SOP: Concerns: Other: Applying to: LSE, Barcelona GSE, Columbia QMSS, or any suggestions you would haveThank you.
