UNC MSW 2014

Not a lot of talk about UNC on the boards this year. Anyone else apply? And any updates on when admissions will start being announced? Based on past years' posts, I've seen everything from January 15 to April 1. Good luck all.

I've applied! UNC is my top choice, so I'm definitely crossing my fingers. Apparently they try to prioritize making decisions for advanced standing students first as they will be starting in the summer. I'm applying to the regular program so I don't expect to hear for, oh, maybe a month or so if I were to guess. I hope I hear back sooner: Waiting is killing me!

I just found out today I was accepted. Also have a friend who applied who was accepted about 2 weeks ago. Both of us are in state. UNC is my top choice. Best of luck to all!

It seems like after that initial wave of acceptances last month, it's been very quiet from UNC. Anyone received any updates?

I just received my acceptance from UNC via e-mail around 1:40 PM. They directed me to the online application to check my status. I applied for the advanced standing program.

I got in yesterday, via midday email!  I applied in January for the full-time program.  So excited!  I'm in-state as well.

 

I joined gradcafe just to share...I've been lurking to check out decisions for a while now...

Hi. Did anyone else get waitlisted for the 2-year UNC MSW program? Or, any insight from past applicants as to how many they typically choose? I really want to go to UNC; but don't want to turn my back on other schools if it's still a long shot. Grrr. Waiting again.

I don't know if this is helpful or not but I received an email from UNC saying that I needed to accept or decline my offer of admission by April 15th. So, maybe they'll start pulling people from the waitlist April 16th...? Have you heard anything since you posted this?

Congratulations on getting in, Bea86 (have you made a decision?) I haven't heard anything yet, but they said by May 1 we would know. I was really just curious whether they put a large group on the waiting list and it is still a crapshoot, or if I should feel encouraged that I made the list and they tend to add people once the dust settles. Fingers crossed. Hope to see you in the fall. :)

Sorry I don't have more information. Have you called the school to see if they could tell you more? I hope you hear soon! I decided to accept UNC and am really excited about the program. Hopefully I'll see you there in August!

When I went to the info session, they said the average GPA is around a 3.4.
