University of Washington vs. University of Michigan (Biology PhD)

Hi all,

I have been fortunate enough to be accepted to programs at both of the schools mentioned in the title and I am having a very difficult time choosing! I feel I would be happy and successful in either program.  Any advice on picking a program in general or insights on these schools/programs/cities specifically would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Michigan is cold. IMO, Seattle has a pleasantly mild climate and UW is a vibrant, beautiful campus in an even more vibrant neighborhood. I can't speak to the quality of programs at either place, but having just moved to WA from the Midwest, I'm so glad I did.

Michigan is a top-notch school and I would recommend it for just about anybody.

If you mind cold weather and snow or prefer a large city setting, though, Washington is probably for you.
