mike ho Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) I've been accepted into both masters program with graduate assistantship. I am trying to make a decision between the 2, but its tough. Thought I throw it out into the net to see if I can fetch some opinions about either school and their respective programs. Your opinions don't necessarily have to revolve around my specific program. Just seeing if one school had something special other than... e.g. UIUC library system or Penn States RNC ranking. Any general insight into the area, student pop., etc would be beneficial. Thanks in advance for any input. Edited February 19, 2014 by mike ho

So that wouldn't be much of a difference if you want to night life or social scene - although I believe State College is more eventful than Urbana-Champaign. They are both pretty far (at least 2 hours dirivng) from any large city, you can decide if thats good or not. By the way, PA has weird liquor laws (can only get liquor at a state store and limited availablilty of beer and wine at some grocery stores) but nice gun laws. Illinois has horrendous gun laws, if that means anything to you (edit: Totally NOT profiling your location, I just noticed that now. I mentioned it because it may have at least some influence on my decision to go there). Edited February 22, 2014 by JavaGuy147
