Just got an e-mail to check my Grad Apply messages and had a message saying I was nominated for admission.  Anyone else get in?  I'm in at Georgetown MSPP as well and am waiting on SAIS.  I'm unlikely to go to UCSD, but having spent this winter in the midwest I'm more tempted than I thought I would be.  Honestly, the more I read about the program, the more interesting it sounds.  Unfortunately I don't speak any of the languages needed to graduate, so I would need to take language on top of the rest of the curriculum and it doesn't seem like the languages are as seamlessly integrated into it like they are at SAIS.

Any thoughts?

I got the same email. It is not my top choice, but I hear good things about the school and it seems it would fit my focus quite well, so I'm intrigued. Will be even more so if they offer some funding...

Congrats guys! I just got the same message this morning. I would say UCSD can be attractive and it's pretty strong in political science, economics and other IR-related fields. And I've been told the university community is very friendly to international students. Anyway, I still need to know the results from DC schools to make the final decision.

I've gotten a few additional emails including the official admission, but still no mention of funding anywhere. It is unlikely that I will attend IR/PS at this point, but still just curious if they offered me funding.

I just got a funding e-mail today.  Full tuition plus a stipend...I was planning on going to SAIS, but this is incredibly INCREDIBLY tempting.  Especially seeing as how SAIS didn't give me as much as I was hoping.  Plus...San Diego...

It was in an e-mail, BUT it was in my spam folder!  I randomly checked my spam folder for something else and saw the e-mail in there.  The letter was attached to the e-mail.

I still haven't heard anything about funding, so I assume I didn't get any. Went ahead and declined the offer.

My offer of funding was also in my spam folder. Thanks to jct329 for pointing that out. Received full ride + generous stipend. IR/PS just made my decision process that much more difficult.

Received my official ad letter this morning and no funding :(  I really like IR/PS's strong focus on quantitative skills training.

It was difficult for me to choose between UCSD's IR/PS and GWU's Elliott. But now I'm pretty leaning to GWU, since I got 20k over two years, which makes GWU even more affordable.

Congrats on the Princeton offer!  Are you headed there?

Thanks! Yeah WWS was my top choice, so I was floored when I got in. Considering I didn't get much funding from other schools, that acceptance has made what would have been a very difficult decision much, much easier.

I attended UCSD's IRPS last fall and was incredibly disappointed with the faculty and program's lack of attention to my area of focus.  If any of you would like feedback on UCSD, let me know!

I'm an IR/PS grad from 2010. I was searching for an unrelated topic and this thread popped up.

I just want to clarify that IR/PS has a very strong environmental program. The international environmental policy track is one of the fastest growing tracks at IR/PS and we have great faculty in that area - David Victor, Josh Graff Zivin, Junjie Zhang, Jen Burney, and others. Actually the faculty in this track in particular are some of the strongest at IR/PS. During the first year of the MPIA program, students take mostly core classes, with maybe a few electives in their regions/career tracks. In the core classes you learn all the quant and policy skills that you need to be able to handle the 2nd year classes. The second year of the program is when you really explore your chosen career track. If someone only attended in the fall, they wouldn't have had little, if any, experience with the career track.
