This has been killing me for a while now! I've been accepted so far for a Master in Music Technology at Georgia Tech, and Phd in Engineering at University of Central Florida.

I have a Bachelor and a Masters Degree in Engineering from Brazil.

I've got 2 dreams: The first one is to move permanently to the USA, get a job and live the american dream. That's why I'm going for graduate studies in the US. My second dream is to work with music since I'm a musician and a music lover. My area of interest is Music Information Retrieval and Digital Signal Processing, mostly on the development of algorithms.

Georgia Tech Music Technology program fits perfectly my 2nd dream but i don't know much about the first one which is more important. I know the school has a huge reputation in Engineering but i don't know much about Music Technology since it is a new program. Does anyone know about job prospects? The university website says the students have been doing fine getting jobs at Bose, Sennheiser, Apple and others, but I don't know how much I can rely on that. Also, It's not a PhD program, I've already have a Masters in Engineering and I'll have to spend 2 years doing another Master because they only accept PhD students with a Masters in Music Tech.

At UCF I will go straight to PhD in engineering. The school has a really lower rank (72th) but at least I'll be doing PhD in engineering. Don't know if that will rise my odds of finding a good job in the US.

I didn't get funding at any of the two, however GaTech is a LOT more expensive even though it's only 2 years. However PhD at Music Technology at GaTech is FULLY FUNDED. Also, I might have a chance of getting into a better school for PhD and maybe fully funded, afterwards.

What should I do??? I'm leaning towards Ga Tech but I really wanted to know more about job prospects.
