So I'm faced with one of those dilemmas.

I'm an international student with a bachelor in EE. I got accepted to both above programs and have to decide on which to attend.

My thoughts are as follows.

Stanford: - more prestigious

- more recognized internationally

- more entrepreneurial

Berkeley: - cheaper (tuition + $20k fellowship...)

- smaller, more selective program

Any thoughts?

Stanford gives you many opportunities and flexibility in tailoring your own selected program but costs $60k /year. Yet  it pays off when one already has funds available and/or RA offers, sometimes they offer.  I would rather Stanford, specially if your interests lean toward software. You could take CS courses too which add up to your strength. After all, I think all depend on your availble budget.
