zaphyr Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 just realized in AIS that I got accepted to a PhD in EE at TAMU, and they are sending an official letter via postal service. In the AIS there is no word of funding yet !! will this come in the formal letter or I was not offered any funding or it will be notified later on. Could you please share your experience on their process?
hikaru1221 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Congrats zaphyr. Did you contact your POI at TAMU? As far as I know, it's the POI that promises the funding.

Thanks, actually I haven't seen their letter ( does it come along with the letter?) and my POI told me he wants to take in with funding but I don't know if he will decide later or mine is without funding. I just realized about acceptance via the update in the online system.

TAMU is a good school, so don't expect to be expected to work for them without payment. My general impression of the AIS system is that it is just not really personalized, so the detail might not be there. Were I you, I would wait for emails from the POI.
