Gaius12 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Hello everyone, So two friends of mine recently got accepted at CUNY (political theory) and Missouri (American/public opinion/electoral politics), but in both of their cases, no mention was made of funding. That is not to say they weren't given funding, it's just that neither department made any mention of it at all. Is this common? And how long after decisions do such schools normally inform accepted students of funding? Thanks!
overworkedta Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 It is common and it generally means you aren't funded. Now, that doesn't mean you won't be funded but it means that you should not plan on it. Regardless, I would call and ask. The person to call is usually the DGS and they will either tell you "yay" or "nay" on funding and about any opportunities for funding. I know plenty of people who have been funded eventually but not everyone is.
