DM7000 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 So I was accepted into the Food Science Master's program at the University of Minnesota about a month and a half ago. However, they require that an adviser say that they are willing to work with you before you are officially enrolled. Of course, I sent out emails to the faculty that I thought I would work great with due to their research interests and....I haven't heard back. At all. I resent an email two weeks ago after a month had elapsed and I still haven't heard anything. I realize that professors are busy and everything and I don't want to just keep sending emails and emails but I don't know what else to do. I don't live near the school so I can't just stop and pop my head in (not that I would do that, I feel like that'd be rude) so I'm just panicking that somehow my emails got lost in their inboxes or something. Has anyone been in a situation like this before? Got any advice? The U of M is my ideal place and kinda my last shot at getting into graduate school so I'm starting to get more and more freaked out.
smpalesh Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Have you tried calling them on the phone? Emails can be easily ignored, a phone call not so much. I am actually kind of surprised that you have waited over a month for a reply and didn't think to phone them.
