March Deadlines

While many have been checking their emails like crazy for several months now, I am curious about graduate schools with late application deadlines. 

 

I know April 15th is important for funding, but is that an unofficial day to send out acceptance letters?

 

Two programs I applied to had march 3 as the deadline. I'm wondering if I will hear back in April or will much later? This causes issues when trying to plan for housing as well, since school housing for graduate apartments go quickly. I'm applying across the country to EMU as one, so on campus housing would be very important.
