redsfan2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Hello! I am an archaeology/earth sciences grad student hoping to one day specialize in geoarchaeology. I know there aren't a lot of the programs for geoarchaeology in the U.S. I have never actually met any other students, undergraduate or graduate, who are also wanting to go into geoarchaeology. So if you love archaeology, geology, and everything in between, where are you studying? What are you studying? How are you studying? What is your favorite color?! Just kidding, but I'll share that mine is green. My fellow future geoarchaeologists - share your story!
geographyrocks Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I'm not a geoarchaeologist, but I just wanted to say that we may share the same school considering your name on here.
geoground Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Indiana State, M.S. Earth and Quaternary Sciences. I'm concentrating in Geoarchaeology.
Usmivka Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Could you give an example of a geoarchaeology program and the questions such research addresses? eg how is this different from archaeology, is there a distinct timeframe that requires the "geo" prefix? Or is this more a question of techniques and tools as in marine archaeology, which uses the same toolbox as marine geology?
