Hi,

I am accepted into the Masters Program of CMU and UT Austin.

My area is Integrated Circuits.

CMU Program is partially funded and hence the cost of both the colleges will be same.

Barring the cost, which program should I opt.

Thanks

What kind of circuits your interests fit most? RF/Analog or Digital/Hardware. Were I you, for the former I would choose UT Austin and for the latter I would choose CMU as you know they are famous for all staff related to computer engineering. Btw congrats :)

I am interested in mainly Analog CAD.

I know UT Austin is famous in RF/Analog...

But the name of CMU is way ahead of UT Austin.

The strongest integrated circuits schools are:

UCSD, UCLA, UCB, UT-Austin, UW, Columbia, and Georgia-Tech

Taken from the integrated circuits group page at UCSD. The professor I do undergraduate research with at Berkeley said the same.

Between UT and CMU, go to UT.

could we include Texas A&M University in the list? they sound great in integrated circuits, too?

Yea definitely, that list was not meant to be exclusive. A&M is great too.
