Messianico Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Hi People, I have been accepted to three U. Which is the best way to reject the offers when you are not interested anymore? Not to answer by the deadline or to send a letter to the Director of the Program or what?
Vene Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Just send a quick, polite email thanking the program contact saying you've decided to pursue higher education elsewhere.
hikaru1221 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Some schools will ask you to complete some online form (which may be basically a click) to inform them of the decision. In that case, I would only send a personal email to my POI (or anyone who has been in personal contact with me) additionally. But that would have to wait a few days / a week after I receive their offer - I would not want to appear inconsiderate, especially to those who will review my papers in the future.
themmases Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Schools will generally tell you how to accept/decline admission when they accept you. If they accepted you a while ago, schools may even contact you again reminding you to accept or decline. The most common ways I've seen are either response to their acceptance email, or using an online form. Definitely don't just not respond by the deadline-- that's rude to the people who reviewed your application. And since it's not April 15th yet, if you respond and decline the school may be offer your spot to someone on the waitlist who wants it.
Messianico Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Thanks everybody for your comments... I´m about to reject one of my options.
