I got offers from brown and USC (southern california), both of which are for chemistry PhD programs. It is a tough decision for me to make between them. What I know is that they have same rankings in chemistry and LA is a great place to go. However, the living fees and safety problem at USC worry me a bit. (Brown provides a higher stipend) They both have some good faculties in my research field.

I intend to explore my career at academic institutions or research centers after graduation. And I guess it should be a good choice for chemistry students.

Anyone has ideas about this?
