schlafgut Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Dear friends, I had received the Fulbright student scholarship 2014-2015 and got admitted to HSK and Columbia. However, the total tuition fee and monthly accomondation is still very high, and Fulbright might be unable to afford all the cost. Although I have tried and waited for various scholarships and fellowships, the risk is still there. I have told the contact person of Fulbright in my country that I want to "shoulder" a part of the total cost with my personal savings. However, I was told that it was the policy of Fulbright (Fulbright HQ in Washington) that there is no chance a grantee can privately share the cost with Fulbright. They will only accept cost-sharing cases with international organizations. I wonder if this is the case. As there's a blog here telling stories about shouldering costs: http://www.llm-guide.com/blog/370/problems-with-the-fulbright-scholarship-system Is there anyone who experienced such a thing ? any where I can find the doccumentation of such policies ? I have fought this far to get Fulbright and got admitted to HKS and Columbia. Personally I don't want to lose the final battle because of "technical problems". Any help would be gladly appreciated. best,
