Varangian Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Is anyone else moving up to New Haven/West Haven area in the fall to start grad or PhD studies?
Varangian Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Have you been up there yet to get a feel for the area/where you want to live?
MistressOfTheDew Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I formally visited about a month ago but I'm heading again to New Haven this weekend. There's no doubt in my mind, I want to live downtown, right next to campus. How about you?
diasporabound Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I'm still deciding between Yale and Harvard, but leaning strongly toward Yale. I'll be visiting both schools this week/end for diversity recruitment days....and I'd definitely want to live right next to campus! If you're looking for a roommate, and/or will be at Yale the 6th and 7th we should meet
Varangian Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) I am looking to live either downtown or in West Haven. I was accepted to UNH's PhD program and their campus is in West Haven. It's to bad the Hill neighborhood is so bad (I've heard). But yes, downtown or West Haven. West Haven has some nice areas and cheaper rent. I plan to go up there in July to apartment hunt.
