Hi,

I would like to know if there is someone on the Brandeis wait-list here, or if there is someone who can advise me.

Brandeis says that they might give me an offer "after" April 15th, when their top-choice students make final decisions.

Since Brandeis is my top-choice, I'm still just holding another offers, not making any decisions. It seems to best for me that I make a tentative decision before April 15th, and if I fortunately get an offer from Brandeis after April 15th, I will decline the original offer and accept Brandeis's...

Does my plan make sense? Or, is it a legally or morally impossible idea to carry out..?

What would you do if you are in my situation...?

Is there anyone who is wait-listed by Brandeis...?

I know Northeastern, in their offer letter, said that if I had a problem with making a decision before April 15th, to let them know; I'm wondering if it would be best to contact your other offer and ask for an extension? From these forums, it does indeed seem in bad form to say you'll enroll and back out, unless you have accepted an unfunded offer and suddenly get funding elsewhere (then they can release you), but I'm not sure what the ethics on that is . . .

Congrats on the waiting list at Brandeis, and I wish you good luck getting in :)

rachelann1991, thanks for your advice and wishing me good luck!

Asking for an extension seems to be the best, but what if my request is turned down...?

Ok... I think it's time to stop thinking and just send a polite email!

You're very welcome :) I definitely think polite, honest communication is always the best option, even in this cutthroat world of academia ;-)
