ltbtl Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Hi all, I've recently been accepted to both a library school program (Simmons GSLIS) and an Ed.M program (HGSE - L&T). My undergraduate degree is in elementary education, and I have a year of teaching experience (It was wonderful, although exhausting!) However, having taken a year off, I'm not sure I want to return to the classroom or not. I've visited both Simmons and HGSE, and I have to say, I'm definitely drawn to the people, the classes, etc. that I encountered at Harvard. (My potential cohort = wow.) However, I would love to have the opportunity to work in different kinds of libraries in the event that I don't go back to teaching, and Simmons offered me significantly more financial aid. Thoughts? Insights? Has anyone chosen between library school and Ed school before, and how did you make your decision? I have five days to make up my mind and I'm waffling!
