exe163 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 So I have one offer for Master's that I have to reply by the 15th. Currently, I am still waiting on a few schools' decision on my Ph.D. applications as well as decisions on jobs. So how does this work?
Rolling Circles Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Well, participants of the Council of Graduate Schools say However, an acceptance given or left in force after April 15 commits the student not to accept another offer without first obtaining a written release from the institution to which a commitment has been made. Similarly, an offer by an institution after April 15 is conditional on presentation by the student of the written release from any previously accepted offer. It is further agreed by the institutions and organizations subscribing to the above Resolution that a copy of this Resolution or a link to the URL should accompany every scholarship, fellowship, traineeship, and assistantship offer. Feel free to read the entire April 15th resolution here https://www.cgsnet.org/april-15-resolution
apriluser Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I am in the same situation. The above resolution talks about the financial package. Any idea if we are not receiving any financial package in the pending universities?
Rolling Circles Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Hmm, I always figured that fell under the admissions guidelines as well and have treated it as such. I suppose in your case it is up to the school. I did have one school ask me for a decision with an approximate two week deadline which coincidentally came out to be around now, so I'm not too sure.
