Moving to NYC? I need a subletter!

For those of you who plan to attend graduate school in NYC (e.g., at Columbia, CUNY, NYU, etc.), we might be able to help each other out.

 

I live in a pretty awesome apartment in Astoria. It is about a block from the subway, which is extraordinarily convenient. The commute to NYU is no more than 35 minutes (usually 25-30). The commute to CUNY is probably less (between 20-25 minutes, maybe less, depending on the subways). And the commute to Columbia, while longer, is manageable (maybe about 40-50 minutes). I have two roommates, who are close friends and great to live with.

 

Our lease expires in October, but I plan to move to Texas late-July/early-August. So, I need someone to rent my room until October. Would anyone be interested? There is the possibility of getting on the lease after October, assuming you like it here and my roommates plan to stick around, but it could be a good living option as you search for a more permanent place.
