Dear GradCafe community,

I'm currently torn between YU (23k/year after scholarship) and NYU (25k/year after scholarship).

Does anyone have any thoughts on how these schools stack up?

I would ultimately like to work as a school social worker if that factors in.

Finally, I am very seriously considering placing a deposit for one program and deferring for a year so that I can reapply to Hunter. If they accepted me, I would save approximately 13k/year, which is a huge sum of money. Between now and the reapplication I can continue volunteering, gaining experience, and I can even take the GREs to bolster my application.

My father in law encouraged me to apply to PhD programs in the interim as well, though I'm skeptical about the likelihood of acceptance.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
