lynne_k8989 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Has anyone heard of anyone re-applying to a school they rejected an offer from? I'm sure the school wouldn't be excited, but they might understand a bad fit at a different program. What do you all think?
TheGirlWhoLived Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) If they are different programs, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless the programs overlap, it's unlikely the program would know. Unless you are talking about a bad fit at a different school? Edited April 22, 2014 by TheGirlWhoLived
lynne_k8989 Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 I mean: I rejected an offer from program A and took B, which doesn't work at all, so I reapply to A, explaining situation. have people done that
Guest Gnome Chomsky Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 It's worth a shot, but I can possibly see them being a little bitter about it. Especially if you weren't one of their top choices when they accepted you. But if they loved you, then I can see them letting bygones be bygones. Worth a shot though.
TheGirlWhoLived Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I think they would understand. I declined the school I went to undergrad at, and I was told I could always come back after my masters if things didn't work out. Most of my programs that I applied to were super nice and I think the same thing would apply. I think it really depends on the department though.
