Hi guys,

First of all, I would like to apologize for posting such a personal issue on a public thread like this, but I cannot seem to make a decision in which school to attend.

I am deciding between PhD program in Bioengineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Master's program in Bioengineering at University of Pennsylvania.

UPenn did not offer any financial aid, whereas UIUC offered full tuition waiver as well as minimum of $22,000 in financial support.

I guess what I am really asking is, "Is UPenn worth 100k in two years?"

Please help me make up my freaking mind.

Thanks.

I'm not exactly in the situation you're in but I decided on UPenn's bioengineering program primarily because it has a research group that I want to work with.

I think it really comes down to whether or not the school has research groups or professors who are actively doing research in topics you're interested in.

If UIUC can provide you with the research opportunities you're interested in, then I don't see why you wouldn't choose UIUC especially if they're offering you financial aid.

Good luck on your decision.
