akb07003 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Hi all, Thank you guys in advance for helping me out. I seem to be stuck and have decided to reach out to you all for help. My current bio: Undergrad: UConn Major: Accounting and Political Science GPA: 3.3/4.0 GMAT: Not taken yet Work Experience: PricewaterhouseCoopers-2 years as an Audit Associate Teach for America-Current I have been accepted into Education Pioneers for an Analyst Fellowship for after TFA ends (next fall). My question for you all is: in terms of competitiveness, do you believe that a fellowship with Education Pioneers would help my application?
Gov2School Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If education policy is your interest/focus then the more experience you have in that, the better. If you don't plan to continue with education or education-related work in the future then it may not make a difference.
hopeful88 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I echo the advice above--Ed Pioneers is a great path to pursue if you're interested in education policy. They offer incredible networking opportunities, and the analyst positions are definitely relevant to the work in a top MPP program.
