I am going to UCSB in the fall to get my Master's in applied statistics, but I want to know what I should do to better my chances of employ ability. Right now I am in an intensive internship that deals with statistics. I also understand that maintaining high grades are a must as well as having a solid programming core. But with this economy being so tough and undertaking quite a bit of debt I do not want to be left unemployed. These next two years I want to do everything I can to be more marketable. What other things should I do to impress employers in general?(i'm still deciding on a field to narrow down on but most likely i'll end up going somewhere in the financial sector).
