greyberries Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I have been accepted into the NYU and USC PhD programs in chemistry. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. I did my undergrad in chemistry at NYU, and know that there is a stigma associated with continuing your graduate education at the same university, but I am fascinated by the research of a professor here (Aurora) and, also, love the city. However, USC is closer to home since I'm from LA and it has a better reputation (ranked 48 vs. NYU being 61). If anyone has any input as to which university is better for the field I'm going into (bio-organic/ biochemistry) and which one would have a better career outlook, I would appreciate it !
