Juanmihd Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Hey guys, I've got admitted to some colleges, after all. I want to study a Masters of Computer science in the way to study a PhD in Computer Science. The specialization area desired is Computer Graphics and Pattern Recognition. By now, I've got admitted to those 4 universities, two master of Sciences offers, one Master of Arts offer and one PhD Offer. Tomorrow I'll do an interview for the PhD but I would like to ask you for some advice. Queens College, Master of Arts in Computer Science. 2 years degree. Haven't found good subjects related to Computer Graphics and Pattern Recognition, although it seems that the faculty has some research interesets in College Staten Island, Master of Science in Computer Science. 2 years degree. Several subjects related to Computer Graphics, Artifical Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Natural Language recognition... Goldsmiths (London), Master of Science in Computer Games and Entertainment. 1 year degree (I will have the chance to do some research in Pattern Recognition). Pace University, Phd in Computer Science (still have to do the interview). My main question would be between QUEENS COLLEGE vs COLLEGE STATEN ISLAND, from New York, just in case I don't get into the PhD for PACE. Could you give me any guidance? Thank you everyone!
Flandre Scarlet Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 After briefly skimming their cs pages, I think CSI definitely has a much better fit for your interests. Queens college hasn't offered any courses in pattern and language recognition this past spring and isn't offering any for this coming fall semester. I've always had the impression that QC is generally better in cs though (maybe that's not true). If you're certain that you'll stick with pattern recognition, I'd pick CSI. Otherwise, I'd go with QC.
