estz Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I just graduated and am going to be working at a university in student transition advising/programs for a year or so while to gain experience/save money. I think I have a decent amount of Higher Ed exposure and my work will help supplement my previous experience. I've networked with lots of people at conferences, in my undergrad administration, etc. and have heard pros/cons about lots of programs. I know that the rankings posted online are usually geared toward PhDs as well. In general, what schools/programs are considered to be the *Top* programs in Higher Ed Administration? Just wondering if there's something comparable for Higher Ed, similar to how HYPSM are viewed for undergrads. I know it won't be exactly transferable, but just wondering! Btw, I understand program fit, alignment of interests, location and such are more important than prestige when selecting a program.. This is just more out of pure curiousity and to see what people think in general =)
hokiestar Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Just from a pure "Top Schools" perspective, Ivy League schools with Higher Ed programs probably have the same impressive factor that HYPSM does for undergrad. Just from my own experience, I'd say: Harvard, UPenn, Columbia, Stanford, University of Virginia. They are all prestigious and happen to have solid education schools.
