kysorkhabi Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Hello, I've taken the GRE twice, once in 2011 and once in 2013. my scores is AWA=4.0 Q=160 V=152 for the first exam, and AWA=2.5 Q=164 v=156 for the second one. Both of them were paper-based tests. My writing score deteriorates because I started writing on a wrong page (note page) and that created a disaster. Should I take the exam again?? Will admission committees use my higher scores?? Sincerely, Khashayar
bsharpe269 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Since a 2.5 is pretty bad, I would retake. If you are really unable to due to time constraints or finances then just send both scores. I recommend retaking over sending both scores though since the test dates were a few years apart. Schools may worry that your score decreased because you havent practiced Engish in a few years or something.
aojfifjoaisjaiosdj Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Your scores are good especially considering you're from Iran. Also if I recall correctly, schools get your GRE essays when you send it to them. You can explain you wrote it on the wrong page or something.
bsharpe269 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Also if I recall correctly, schools get your GRE essays when you send it to them. You can explain you wrote it on the wrong page or something. This is a rumor. Schools get scores only, not the essays.

victorydance Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 That's really unfortunate because your quant and verbal scores improved quite a bit the second time around.
kysorkhabi Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Thank you friends. I will retake it. Wish you all the best.
