mocha_latte1 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Hi all, Last cycle, I applied to around 10 doctoral programs in school psychology, both PhD and PsyD. I was invited for interviews for most and then rejected. I did not get into any of the programs. People are telling me that I messed up the interview. I am reapplying this cycle. Does anyone have experience with psychology Phd/PsyD programs, specifically the interview? What are they looking for? Thanks!
Asperfemme Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I think it would be helpful for us to know the specifics of why people are telling you that you messed up the interviews. There are a lot of things that the profs in psychology PhD programs look for, that make sense in the context of the given program. For school psych, I'd think they look for both practical experience (e.g. psychometric experience with children) and research experience in relevant streams.
eragon Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Best way is by experience. Make a list of all the questions you were asked in the interview and prepare for it.
