putting the abbreviation or the full name

Should I put the full name of a protein or a gene in the SoP or just the abbreviation, and should I provide more details about it?

i think you should put the full name plus abbreviation between brackets for the first time then u can use the abbreviation throughout the letter

for example in mine i mentioned what is called perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT),, i used the full name once,,then i used the abbreviation
