I was filling out a grad application today and got to a section entitled "test information." The page asked me to report my GRE scores. I've taken the test twice and the second time my V/Q scores went up but my A/W score went down by half a point.

The page, however, simply asks for my GRE scores. There's no mention as to which exact scores I'm supposed to report. Should I just report my highest scores or is this a dumb move?

Absent specific instructions, I would pick whichever test date you think is best and report those scores, rather than merging the best parts from multiple occasions.  How much will the extra .5 on the writing section help you, and is it worth the risk that someone tosses your application because they deem you misrepresented your score?  (Note: I'm not saying it would be misrepresentation - I just think the risk/reward situation is such that you should play it safe.)

Yeah, I think it would be weird if an institution got your highest scores unofficially and then received scores from a particular date that didn't have all your highest scores.
