Take GRE Nov 16 once, or twice in Nov 8th and Nov 30th?

Hi all,

 

Most of my applications are due Dec 15... and I'm afraid I won't do well on the GRE. 

 

Currently I'm signed up for Nov 16th, which is about 29 days before the deadline (more than enough time for the scores to be sent). 

 

However, would it be better to reschedule the GRE to Nov 8th, knowing that I can take it again on Nov 30th? 

 

I know Nov 30th is "late"... But never have I heard of a case of GRE scores taking more than 2 weeks to arrive. Plus, most grad programs willingly accept the GRE scores days after the deadline.

 

And thoughts would be appreciated

i didn't do as well as I wanted recently, so I'm retaking on Dec 4 with deadlines of Dec 15. But will first touch base with admissions about it. 

 

I do have decent scores from 3 yrs ago and current ones not too bad if need be.
